Party Inspiration: Yellow & Aqua

As many of you know, this past weekend we celebrated Joaquin's first birthday =)!, it was so much fun to see his expressions of joy with all the attention around him, and it was also great fun for me to plan,  many of you asked about it so I thought I would share my inspiration as well as some great resources worth checking out for your next party!

I did the invitations myself with paper from The Paper Place on and to close the envelopes I used dotted aqua tape

Paper plates, napkins & stripe straws from Shop Sweet Lulu

 Cake from Bobbette & Belle

Disposable wooden utensils and stripy straws from SSL, enamel jug &  basket cake stand from Ikea and yellow ranunculus used throughout

twine from La Merceria & craft paper from Michael's

As favours each kid received a canvas bag with their name stamped on it, and inside we put a wooden puzzle as well as a coloring wooden frame from Michaels (replacing the picture paper with the same paper we used on the pennant flags)

the vending machine capsules are also from SSL and were a great hit among the kids!

This was my favorite item of the party, a beautiful birthday crown that my sister made from scrap fabric, is just such a great memento!

I made this pennant flags from craft paper from Michaels, great place to pick-up DIY supplies, we also picked up some stickers from the Martha Stewart collection that we used on the favors and to decorate the table

Cupcakes decorated with Macaroons from B&B

Vintage wooden cart from La Merceria,  favor bags from SSL
